2024 India General Election Results
Modi's BJP-led National Alliance Set High Bar for Success
Early results from India's 2024 general election indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on track to secure a significant victory.
According to exit polls, the NDA is projected to win between 280 and 300 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, India's lower house of parliament. This would be a significant increase from the 282 seats the NDA won in the 2019 election.
The main opposition Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is projected to win around 120 seats, while other regional parties are expected to win the remaining seats.
The high bar for success set by Modi and the BJP in the 2024 election is attributed to a number of factors, including the party's strong organizational structure, its ability to connect with voters through its Hindutva ideology, and the absence of a credible opposition.
